Large lacquered wood sculpture (gesso) depicting two stylised fish, koi carp, arranged in a circle, probably inspired by the yin-yang ☯️ In Asian culture, the carp is a symbol of luck, prosperity, and balance: a beautiful meaning for an interior. Created in the mid-20th century, probably in tribal India, the piece was carved from wood and then polychromed in red, black, gold, and aquamarine. The cracks and patina testify to its handcrafted nature and history. With its generous dimensions, it is a strong decorative piece, ideal for adding character to a wall or enhancing a bohemian, eclectic, or wanderlust atmosphere. Dimensions: 40 × 35 × 18 cm. Material: monolithic carved wood. Condition: signs of wear, cracks, and patina of time (see photos), good decorative condition. Period: mid-20th century. Origin: Southeast Asia / tribal India.
