We are delighted to offer for sale 1 of the 4 original ICF chrome swivel office chairs fully stamped for Charles Eames, model EA105 Hopsak, with a recommended price of £2, 096 each. Super iconic, award-winning, what more can be said, these are probably the most comfortable office chairs ever made. They are fully stamped with the model number under the base and the Eames label on the back. The Aluminium Chair is one of the great furniture creations of the twentieth century. Charles and Ray Eames designed and developed this chair in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). For its construction, the designer couple moved away from the principle of the seat shell, instead stretching a panel of fabric or leather between two aluminium side supports to create a taut yet elastic seat. The chair conforms to the user's body and is extremely comfortable, even without elaborate padding. This sale concerns one chair with the option to purchase three others; they are all in excellent condition with only a few slight signs of patina due to use.
