A vase from the 1930s, made of crystal by the Józefina Glassworks, perfectly illustrates the principles of Polish Art Deco. Its transparent form with a subtle grey tone attracts attention with precise, vertical facets of varying width and depth, creating rhythmic, architectural patterns. The highly polished, mirror-like surface smoothly transitions through the sharp edges of geometric cuts to the slightly flared, open rim, highlighting both the optical lightness and solidity of the form. The stable, clearly defined base counterbalances the slender, vertical body. The entire piece is in very good condition – with no visible losses, damage, or signs of repair – and retains its unchanged, shiny surface characteristic of the glassworks' craftsmanship. This vase tells the story of the 1930s, when architectural discipline and geometric patterns responded to the need for modernity. The characteristic facets not only emphasize the clarity of the crystal but also catch the light, casting dynamic, cool reflections on walls and surfaces – as if reaching for the glow of neon lights and the soaring lines of city skyscrapers. The vessel's form, confident and precise, refers to a time when luxury was expressed not by addition, but by well-designed detail. The vase could easily decorate the modernist interiors of pre-war Warsaw – silently suggesting that decorative and functional purposes can meet in perfect balance. It can be placed against a veneered sideboard, on a shiny rosewood table, or alongside geometric ceramics or a deco lamp to deepen the dialogue with the era. It works well in interiors arranged in the spirit of modernism, classic Art Deco, or monochromatic settings where light and the rhythm of form play the leading roles. It is worth pairing it with a single branch or leaving it empty – the faceted walls will serve as a sculptural accent even without additional decorations.
