Polychrome sandstone vase from Biên Hoa - Vietnam

Glazed stoneware vase from Biên Hoa in Vietnam made in the first half of the 20th century in an ovoid shape with a neckline and two side handles in elephant heads. The details of the polychrome enamel are numerous: several geometric and floral friezes are present and a scene of male life runs around the container. A beautiful monochrome of muted colors goes through brown, burgundy, ochre, different blues and greens highlighted by the beige lines and faces.
