Immense Venetian mirror – 202 cm – engraved & bevelled glass – gilded wood

Spectacular piece – very large format – vintage Venetian spirit. With an exceptional length of 202 cm, it offers a remarkable presence and can fit in a large living room, dining room, entrance, bedroom, or above a long console. The mirror consists of a large central panel, surrounded by a remarkable decor made from numerous worked glass plates. All around, there is a succession of engraved and bevelled glass panels, adorned with delicate plant and floral motifs: foliage, branches, small berries, and stylised flowers. The peripheral parts also feature an elegant geometric diamond lattice, characteristic of the aesthetic of large 20th-century Venetian-style mirrors. The floral decor is particularly refined: some parts are engraved directly into the glass, while other elements exhibit deeper and slightly sculpted work, creating subtle plays of light depending on the lighting. The various plates are connected by small decorative floral rosettes, which harmoniously punctuate the composition and add a lot of relief to the whole.
