Tobacco jar or sweet jar Gien "Rouen" vintage dolphin

Charming covered pot (tobacco pot, sugar bowl or sweet jar) in Gien earthenware, model "Rouen". It features a superb decoration of scrolls and geometric friezes in shades of blue on an ivory-coloured body. The lid is topped with a very beautiful stylised handle in the shape of a dolphin (or chimera), typical of the craftsmanship of the manufacture. Period: 1938-1960 (stamp under the base). Exterior condition: Superb visual appearance, the earthenware is shiny and the decorations are very fresh. Note a small internal crack. Ideal for charming decoration, on a shelf or in a display case.
