Born in 1889, he lived and worked in the Brittany region all his life and specialised in painting landscapes and marine scenes. Although Cario is now considered one of the greatest Breton painters of his time, he remained relatively obscure during his lifetime and only received the recognition he deserved after his death in 1941.
