It features a vibrant and detailed central scene of chrysanthemums (the national flower of Japan, symbolising longevity and renewal) in shades of pink, white, and lavender, surrounded by delicate birds in flight. The decoration is distinguished by its deep black border, adorned with a rich golden frieze and raised floral patterns, creating an elegant contrast with the cream background. Inspired by Satsuma or Imari ceramics, characterised by the use of colourful glazes and golden details.
