Pair of twin Kashan Persian rugs, handwoven - 116x176 cm each (2 pieces) Deep garnet red background, central ivory medallion with royal blue floral decoration, midnight blue corners, and a wide border with floral scrolls. Tight hand weaving, excellent quality shiny wool pile on a cotton warp, thick and silky pile to the touch, cotton fringes. Matched pair from the same workshop, with the same woven signature cartouche. Slight variation in blue shade at the centre between the two: a normal and authentic phenomenon of hand weaving (2 different indigo dye baths). Very good condition. 116x176 cm WITHOUT fringes each, approx. 116x196 with fringes. 2.04m² per rug, 4.08m² for the pair. Sold as a set of 2 matching rugs - Ideal for framing a bed, a fireplace, or in symmetry.
