Pair of wooden plant stands from the late 19th century
A pair of late 19th-century wooden pedestals for vases. Designed to be free-standing, these pieces are carved and veneered in high-quality walnut, beech, and various fruitwoods. The pedestals previously supported a pair of substantial, heavy marble vases, which have left marks on the top surfaces (see photos). While the columns remain structurally sound and solid, there are minor losses to the decorative elements, as well as signs of wear and moisture exposure (see photos). Featuring elegant dimensions and proportions, they are ideal for a grand entryway or living room—an excellent choice for antique dealers and interior designers. In fair condition; in need of restoration. Height 60, top diameter 38, bottom diameter 46 cm.
