From 1968 to 1972, he honed his skills at the School of Decorative Arts in STRASBOURG, primarily with Louis WAGNER and André BRICKA. He held his first exhibition at Octave LANDWERLIN in 1974. Subsequently, LITZELMANN turned to oil painting; the landscapes of the South are a constant source of inspiration for him. However, ALSACE is not entirely absent from his work. LITZELMANN mainly exhibits in CANNES, NANTES, PARIS, and STRASBOURG. Very demanding of himself, he ruthlessly destroys what he considers to be poor work. He regards painting as his sole profession.
