Chess and backgammon set in carved wood and marquetry

Magnificent box containing a chess set and a backgammon set. The box is made of solid carved wood, and the inner board is inlaid with marquetry. There are some signs of wear on the board, and the wood may have warped in places, but overall the set remains in excellent condition. The set includes: 32 chess pieces, 32 backgammon pieces, and two dice. All the pieces were hand-carved; the sizes given below may vary slightly by a few millimeters.
