African wall basket

Basket braided in rwanda according to an ancestral technique that is transmitted from mother to daughter. They can be used as much as a basket to store, either as a wall display. It is made from sisal and sweet grass. The colors are designed with natural dyes, for example with dyes from dried tea leaves. This average basket is 30 cm in diameter and 10 cm deep. This basket has a hook to the so that it can be attached to the wall. Craftsmen work 1-2 days to weave a small basket, 2-3 days to weave an average basket and 5-7 days to weave a large basket. How to take care of them: dust them lightly and regularly to keep the colors bright. Do not display them in full sun as this can make colors disappear over time. Keep away from moisture, as this can cause mold. Keep away from heat sources as they can dry out the fibers.
