This elegant retro armchair dates back to the 1960s and bears the signature of one of the most significant Czechoslovak designers – Jindřich Halabala. Halabala was a pioneer of modern furniture design, influencing aesthetics and functionality across the Eastern Bloc. The chair was manufactured by the renowned company TON Bystřice pod Hostýnem, which continued the legacy of the legendary Thonet brand and remains known for its precision craftsmanship in bentwood furniture. The frame, armrests, and legs are made of beechwood, hand-sanded and stained in a walnut shade. The upholstery is high-quality red fabric with a subtle pattern, and the seat is padded with comfortable foam. The chair features bentwood armrests, slim wooden legs, and a sturdy construction. The beechwood parts have been hand-sanded and stained, the original upholstery preserved and professionally cleaned. This armchair is perfect for lovers of retro style and fits seamlessly into vintage, mid-century modern, or industrial interiors. It is suitable for living rooms, studies, or reading nooks, adding unique character to any space. The chair has undergone partial renovation of its wooden parts while retaining its authentic vintage look.
