Jindřich Halabala Armchair, Czechoslovakia, 1950s

The H-269 is one of Halabala's most recognizable designs, distinguished by its dramatic continuous bentwood armrests and elegant upholstered body. The expressive curves of the dark wooden frame contrast with the soft salmon-pink patterned upholstery, giving this example a particularly distinctive appearance. Although the H-269 was originally designed in the 1930s, the model continued to be produced during the 1950s by UP Závody, making this chair representative of the later production period. The design is frequently associated with the development of modern Czechoslovak furniture and remains highly sought after by collectors of European vintage design. The chair is preserved in good original vintage condition with visible signs of age and use.
