Folk art painted bridal chest

Magnificent painted bridal chest from Germany, or more precisely from Franconia. It is grayish blue in color and features floral decorations on the front. This old paint, which is very worn and weathered, gives it a rustic and characteristic appearance. There are some sporadic traces of old woodworm, which have naturally been treated and inspected. In addition, the paint on the lid is quite worn, which is normal for a piece of furniture that is approximately 200 years old. In the past, it was customary to offer this type of bridal furniture to the bride and groom at a wedding. These pieces were then placed in a state room on the farm, rarely used for distinguished guests or special occasions. A magnificent decorative historical piece.
