Vintage Scandinavian art pottery vase by Alberius for Rörstrand, Sweden, 1960s

A fantastic and rather large vintage ceramic vase from the well-known designer Olle Alberius, called 'Sarek', for Rörstrand, Sweden. Alberius's ceramics are known for their special feel, with simple shapes and stunning glazing. The pattern is slightly abstract, inspired by Swedish nature. 'Sarek' is named after one of Sweden's most famous national parks. Each piece is unique as they are hand-painted. The vase has a warm dark brown colour with earth tones and white details, and is signed and numbered. It is 22 cm high and 9 cm in diameter, and is in very good condition.
