Mirror with brass repoussé frame

Mirror with brass parcloses, typical craftsmanship from the second half of the 19th century. The decoration is freely inspired by classical styles characterised by rich and symmetrical ornaments. Structure of the parclose mirror: the mirror features a central bevelled glass surrounded by four sections of inclined mirrors separated by decorative strips with floral patterns. The upper pediment is topped with an openwork ornament featuring relief scroll motifs, which reveals a mirror background at the back. The decorations are made of fine repoussé brass sheets fixed onto a wooden frame. Overall good condition, with some signs of use related to its age, including spots of silvering on the mirror. The colour of the brass leans more towards a patinated bronze colour (with golden reflections). Details are visible in the photos.
