Large polychrome ceramic cache-pot with floral decoration resting on three panthers – 20th century. Remarkable glazed ceramic cache-pot in a globular shape, entirely hand-decorated with large stylised flowers in soft shades of mauve, pink, and green on a cream background. The upper border is adorned with a polychrome vegetal frieze evoking clusters of berries and autumn leaves. The uniqueness of this piece lies in its sculptural base composed of three black panthers arranged as supports around a decorated circular base. This original treatment, blending naturalistic inspiration and Art Nouveau aesthetics, gives the whole a spectacular decorative presence. The freely painted floral decoration and the generous shape of the vase reflect the late 19th-century taste for naturalistic compositions and ornamental objects intended for refined interiors.
