Magnificent Buddhist votive stele from Myanmar (Burma), an authentic piece of craftsmanship from the mid-20th century, entirely sculpted and assembled by hand according to monastic traditions. Made of teak, it features a superb two-tone patina with cinnabar red and black lacquer, revealing fine and deep sculptural work inspired by the sacred architecture of temples and stupas, with its finely crafted arches and friezes. The composition incorporates ten traditional terracotta votive amulets (Phra Phim), representing the Buddha in various mudrās of awakening and meditation, including a central figure under the Bodhi tree. The whole piece offers a strong spiritual presence, both understated and powerfully symbolic. Mounted on a contemporary blackened base with metal rods in a gallery style, the piece is perfectly stable and ready to be displayed. The generous proportions of 61 cm in height with base, 25 cm in width, and 3 cm in thickness give it a true decorative and contemplative presence. In excellent overall condition, with the rare integrity of all 10 amulets present and intact. An ideal collector's piece for enthusiasts of Asian art, votive objects, and refined spiritual decoration.
