COD 11450. Antique 17th-century Italian painting. Oil on canvas artwork depicting the portrait of a young scholar/artist with excellent painting skills. The painting is adorned with a richly carved and gilded modern frame, beautifully decorated. The painting, which extends vertically, is of excellent proportion and easily fits into any room in the home. The artwork has undergone conservative restoration, including relining, replacement of the stretcher, and retouching of small areas of color. The figure is beautifully painted down to the smallest details, from the unusual hat to the nib between the fingers.
