Charming antique portrait of a young woman in profile, oil on canvas, French school circa 1860-1890 and signed A. Piard in the lower left. The composition is inspired by historicist models from the late 19th century, with a dark background contrasting the light face, hair styled up adorned with pearls, and a green cabochon pendant highlighting the delicate appearance of the model. In good condition for its age, however, the canvas shows a network of natural cracks. A mark is visible at the upper part of the head. Recent, glossy varnish. The original frame in gilded wood and stucco has been repaired, repainted, and reinforced, with a clean home job.
