Rare postmodern table lamp by the French manufacturer Aluminor, designed by Sacha Ketoff in the 1980s. This project was created as part of a competition during the exhibition "Lumières: Je Pense à vous" at the Centre Pompidou in 1985. The design and the name W.O. Refer to the aviation pioneers, the Wright brothers, Wilbur and Orville. The lamp captivates with its technical design language and unique materiality. The most distinctive detail is the thin reflective disc. It consists of a lightweight, thin honeycomb panel and has the simple shape of a square. The disc is mounted at a fixed distance parallel to the light head. This thin plastic disc serves as a reflector, diffuser, and, due to its shape, as an object. The light head is located at the end of a double axis. The lamp can be tilted in both directions via a simple spring mechanism between the two poles. The double connection always ensures a parallel alignment of the head. The heavy plate base is elevated in the central area to cover the transformer.
