This illustration adopts the naturalistic style of botanical plates from the 18th to early 19th centuries, characterised by a precise and isolated representation of the plant. The drawing, with great scientific rigour, is balanced by an elegant and decorative composition, highlighting leaves, flowers, and stems in their various states. It reproduces muted and nuanced colours, close to watercolour, with a concern for readability, also in herbalism. This plate, dating from the mid-20th century, served as a medicinal advertising medium with the advertisement on the back.
