Rare Bruno Gambone Ceramic Monofiore Vase Trio, Italy – Mid-20th Century

By acclaimed Italian ceramist Bruno Gambone, likely dating from the 1960s–1970s, a period when the artist was deeply engaged in exploring sculptural form and tactile surface in functional objects. Each vase presents a distinct but harmonious silhouette: a strong, square base that transitions into a slender neck and opens to a subtly flared mouth. The surfaces are finished in a soft, speckled cream glaze, evoking a natural, almost stone-like texture that feels both modern and timeless. A striking horizontal banding at the base combines deep black and rich terracotta-red, creating a bold graphic contrast against the lighter field above. In the final close-up image, a delicate hint of blue-green glaze under the neck introduces an unexpected, elegant accent that further enriches the palette and speaks to the nuance of Gambone’s glazing technique.
