"Groovy" armchair by Pierre Paulin for Artifort, 1972

Dutch work, model F598, 1972. H 64 X W 84 X D 66 cm. Foam and Kvadrat fabric. Very good condition, fully restored. Low shell in draped foam with no visible structure, seat close to the ground, recognisable organic line. Pierre Paulin joined Artifort in 1958 and developed, with the design office of the Dutch company, seats whose framework disappears under the moulded foam — the Papillon F675 in 1963, followed by this family of shells, of which the Groovy, reference F598, dates from 1972. Fully restored (foam and fabric redone), pads marked "A" from Artifort. Only one example remains available.
