Neo-Renaissance oak desk from 1880-1900

Top equipped with a removable protective glass pane made of 5 mm tempered transparent glass. * Finish: Oil-wax, satin matte finish. * Dimensions: Total width: 136.5 cm|Total height: 78 cm|Total depth: 89 cm. Space under the apron for legs: Height 67.5 cm. Flat surface of the top: 131.5 cm X 83 cm. * Configuration: Top with geometric portfolio marquetry (45 degrees) and moulded edge. Concave apron with continuous fluted frieze. Column-type base with two side supports featuring baluster columns, sculpted acanthus leaves, and scrolls. Double stretcher system: upper stretcher under the arched frame and lower stretcher in double H (ground crossbar). Description and condition. Desk or meeting table in Neo-Renaissance style. The piece is characterised by a top with portfolio veneer decoration and a sculpted structural base featuring a double system of stretchers ensuring the rigidity of the whole. A transparent tempered glass protects the surface of the top. The piece has undergone a complete restoration in cabinetmaking. The structure is sound, rigid, and stable. The adjustments are precise. No signs of wood-boring insects or odours. Not used since its restoration, in impeccable condition.
