Double-sided writing desk in hardwood with gilt griffins, RJ Horner style.

We are delighted to offer for sale this extremely ornate and very sturdy writing desk with drawers on both sides and finely carved golden wood griffins. A very well-made and decorative piece, the griffins are as magnificent as they are decorative. This desk is inspired by RJ Horner, known for some of the most significant desks ever created. This desk is very solid, it does not disassemble and has been designed to last. It has been lightly cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom. There are a few small signs of patina due to use and transport, but they are very rare. Dimensions: Height 79.5 cm, height under the desk 63 cm, width 183 cm, depth 102 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Wimbledon. Please note that vintage and original items like leather seats will always have a natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear. It is recommended to wax regularly to preserve moisture. Additionally, hand-dyed leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods as it may dry out and discolour.
