A teak sideboard made in Denmark in the 1960s. Its simple, long and low form is typical of Danish modernism. Its defining feature is a front of three sliding doors with round, recessed teak pulls, which cover the whole front and show off a continuous, striking teak grain. The body sits on a recessed plinth supported by slender cylindrical legs, so the sideboard looks light and appears to float slightly above the floor. Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify the designer or manufacturer of this unique piece. The three sliding doors make the sideboard very flexible to use, as any part of the interior can be opened at any time. Behind them are three spacious compartments with shelves, and one of them conceals three hidden drawers with light wood sides. It is a practical solution: the drawers keep cutlery, table linen or documents close at hand, while the front stays clean and uniform with the doors closed. Sliding doors need no space to open, so the sideboard works well in a living or dining room, or as a TV unit. The piece has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. Thanks to these treatments, the sideboard looks stunning and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear from everyday use.
