Pair of Dutch oak ladderback armchairs with rush seats – 1960s
These two ladderback armchairs were made in the 1960s of solid oak with hand-woven rush seats. The turned finials on top of the back legs, the broad armrests and the classic ladder back give them a sturdy, rustic character. Made only of natural materials, the chairs have a very warm presence. They are in the style of designers such as Charlotte Perriand and Charles Dudouyt. They look wonderful in a Brutalist, country or modern interior – at the dining table or as a pair of armchairs.
