Dutch oak ladderback armchair with rush seat – 1950s

This atmospheric ladderback armchair from the 1950s is made of solid oak with a hand-woven rush seat. The curved slats, turned finials and slender armrests give the chair a crafted, rustic appearance. It is comfortable to sit in. Thanks to its natural materials the chair has a warm presence. It is in the spirit of designers such as Charlotte Perriand and Charles Dudouyt. Beautiful in a Brutalist, country or modern interior, as an occasional armchair or as a characterful chair at the head of the dining table. Condition: good, with normal signs of use.
