Holy Virgin and Child in wood 31 cm popular art late 19th century early 20th century

Monoxyl statue of the holy virgin and child (carved from a single piece of wood, without collage or added parts). It is a fairly large statue: 31 cm, the width being 10 cm and the depth 6 cm. It is a work of popular art originating from forez or roannais. The species is oak. The weight is therefore quite heavy: approximately 1.3 kg. Very good condition, with less than ten insect holes. It dates from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century. Well protected shipping.
