Succession LACOSTE: TRIO enfilade by Nils Jonsso for Hugo Troeds.

This sideboard comes from the Lacoste estate. This couple of intellectuals furnished their home at La Boutique Danois (Avenue de Friedland, Champs Elysées) in the 1960s with exceptional Scandinavian furniture in which they lived their entire lives. Sideboard, model TRIO, created by the famous designer NILS JONSSON for the publisher HUGO TROEDS in the 1960s. It bears the blue and silver label: BRA BOHAG / Hugo Troeds, Bjarnum, inside one of the drawers. Bra Bohag was the name of a cooperative selling Swedish furniture. This model is sought after due to its compact size. The left door slides open thanks to its recessed handle, running alongside the row of drawers with precisely angled fronts. It reveals a storage space, with an adjustable shelf thanks to a rethought rack mechanism: a metal rod runs along the side of the piece, adapting to various heights, and the shelf slides over it... true craftsmanship! The Lacostes stored their slides in the drawers, which have been recovered by a university fund. The elegantly crafted shape of the four tapered legs is discreet, and the teak triangles "close" the bottom of the piece. The wood grain is very beautiful, pronounced without being overly marked. The result lives up to the involved parties and continues, 60 years later, to impress at first glance. There are some signs of wear (see photos), all quite superficial. In its original patina, it remains in superb overall condition, perfectly stable, solid, and functional at the moment. A classic of Scandinavian excellence that is not often encountered. L: 129 cm.
