Large Louis-Philippe silvered mirror with engraved floral decoration, 19th century, 96 x 61 cm.

Large French mirror in Louis-Philippe style, probably from the second half of the 19th century, in a vertical format of 96 × 61 cm. The moulded frame in wood and silvered stucco features an elegant floral decoration engraved on a burnished background, accented by a wide silvered inner moulding. The rounded upper corners are characteristic of this type of mirror. It has a beautiful old patina with wear and repairs to the silvering that highlight the relief of the decoration. The mirror shows some pitting and oxidation of the backing, as well as a visible scratch in the lower right part of the glass, as shown in the photographs. These signs of age contribute to its decorative character without hindering its use. A piece particularly suited for an entrance, a bedroom, or above a console.
