EDMOND LEFEVER (Ypres 1839 - Schaerbeek 1911) THE ART OF THE STREET Circa 1885. Galvanoplasty. H. 60 cm. Signed: ED LEFEVER Incredibly beautiful work titled "The Art of the Street, " depicting a street musician singing and playing the bandoneon, created by the Belgian sculptor Edmond Lefever. Born in Ypres, Lefever spent most of his career in Schaerbeek. With this work, Lefever creates a figure of a young street musician from Brussels at the end of the 19th century, embodying all the grace and beauty of a singing angel from a Gothic cathedral. The result is truly remarkable.
