Two original boards by mathurin méheut "etudes d'animaux": swimming salamanders and chameleon. These plates are taken from the portfolio "etudes d'animaux", published under the direction of eugène grasset paris (librairie centrale des beaux-arts) in 1911. The plates are monogrammed mm. Dimensions of each board, including margins: 44 cm X 34 cm. Mathurin méheut (1882-1958) was a french painter and illustrator, professor at the boulle school in paris. In 1900, he enrolled at the école nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in paris. From 1910 to 1912, he stayed and worked at the roscoff biological station. The oceanographic museum of monaco and the musée du luxembourg in paris acquired some of his works.
