1960s Dark Wood Saddle Stool, Czechoslovakia

This characterful 1960s stool was made in Czechoslovakia from solid wood. Its most appealing detail is the beautifully curved saddle seat, which gives the compact design a soft, sculptural silhouette. The rich dark finish contrasts beautifully with lighter interiors, while the clean square legs lend the piece a restrained Mid-Century character. Its simple form has a Scandinavian sensibility, balanced by the robust construction associated with Central European furniture of the period. Carefully checked and cleaned in our Brno workshop, the stool is stable and ready for use. It retains light signs of age that contribute to its authentic vintage character.
