Rare and sculptural tripod side table designed by Hans C. Andersen and produced by Artex in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted in teak, the table features a circular top with a raised wooden rim surrounding a contrasting black surface. The warm tone and natural grain of the teak create a strong yet understated contrast with the dark tabletop. A slender central column flows into a beautifully shaped three-legged base, giving the table its distinctive sculptural character. The carefully tapered legs and compact proportions create a light, balanced appearance while providing a stable construction. Organic shaping, refined joinery and the combination of functional simplicity with sculptural detailing make this a particularly rare and characterful example of Danish modern design. Marked underneath the tabletop “Designed by Hans C. Andersen.”
