Set of 5 Erik Buck Dining Chair No.49 for O.D. Møbler

Description. Solid teak structure. Fabric upholstery. The seats of three of the chairs have been refurbished. One of the chairs has a significant area of damage to the upholstery. All the upholstery fabrics show marked signs of wear, hence the low price. The structures are in very good condition. Designed by Danish designer Erik Buck in the classic style of mid-20th century Scandinavian design. Buck's creations are distinguished by an organic aesthetic with curved lines. Chair No. 49 was one of Buck's first successes; this model is characterised by its seat that appears to float. Buck was virtually unknown during his active period, and little information remains about him. Even the year of his death is not known for certain (1973 or 1982). His work was only rediscovered with the renewed interest in mid-20th century Scandinavian design.
