715 armchair - design by gustav siegel in 1899. Manufactured by the kohn firm, this model won the grand prize at the universal exhibition in paris in 1900, marketed in catalogs from 1902 - the year the model was registered by kohn and the exhibition international museum of modern decorative arts in turin. The duration of patents was only 5 years at the time, and we are here in the presence of a remarkable resumption of the model around 1910 by the prestigious swiss firm horgen-glaris. Never seen before... The only difference with the kohn version is that the seat frame is not one piece of bent wood but two. The ends of the feet are made of wood, "cap" shape - a variant which also existed at kohn as an alternative to brass-plated ones. The general height of the horgen version is almost 80 cm (vs 76 cm for the kohn) which gives the model an interesting presence and ease. The seat bears the label of mey, manufacturer of seats, installer since 1901 of “offices, circles, meeting rooms, etc.” and depositary for the high-end of horgen's headquarters in paris, 82 rue de charenton. Emblematic model of the viennese secession and the first "modern" office chair in bent wood with quadragular sections whose front legs constitute structurally, and the armrests, and the back frame, in a single piece of bent wood. Very good condition, some renovations of experience. Upholstery and covering refurbished, thick, textured and matte imitation leather, nail-upholstery finish.|height 79.5 cm - seat 50 X 52 cm; seat height 48 cm.|delivery throughout france and the european union.
