Wall plate Arabia Finland, A. Alariesto, 1984

Small wall plate from a collection made in Finland by the Arabia factory in 1984. Titled "Rakovalkealla, " or "By the Fireside, " it is number 24 in a series dedicated to Lapland, reproducing the works of Finnish artist Andreas Alariesto. The winter scene depicts a family gathered in front of a traditional tent, around a fire lit in the snow. Several reindeer appear in the forest landscape. The soft shades of blue, red, green, and cream give the composition a warm and narrative atmosphere, characteristic of Alariesto's representations of life in Lapland. The reverse bears the title in Finnish, German, English, and Swedish, as well as the signature A. Alariesto, motif number 24, the Arabia Finland mark, and the date 1984. An integrated opening on the reverse allows the plate to be hung directly on the wall. Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks noted. The photographs are an integral part of the description. Diameter: 12 cm. Height: 2 cm. Net weight: 133 g. A small piece full of character, ideal for a wall composition, a collection of Finnish ceramics, or a Nordic-inspired interior.
