Pair of armchairs model 675 designed in the 1950s by Robin and Lucienne Day and manufactured by Airborne in France. Each armchair rests on a fine black lacquered tubular metal base. The backrest, made of moulded plywood, is the distinctive element of the design. Its wide and enveloping shape offers support while creating a fluid and structured silhouette. Only the seat is padded with foam and covered in red faux leather. Seat height: 46 cm. The contrast between the visual lightness of the metal base, the sculptural presence of the moulded wooden backrest, and the solid surface of the seat reflects the modernist language developed by Robin and Lucienne Day in the 1950s. The model 675 embodies their approach to rational, accessible, and formally distinctive furniture. Manufacturer: Airborne, France. Good vintage condition, signs of restoration.
