Charming 18th-century sloped secretary, in Louis XV style, resting on four slightly curved legs and featuring an elegant undulating façade. This piece stands out with its drop front adorned with beautiful geometric marquetry arranged in four symmetrical parts, highlighted by a delicate framing line. The drop front reveals an interior fitted with four small side drawers, two stacked central compartments, and a top shelf, offering ample storage space for documents and correspondence. Once opened, the drop front creates a comfortable writing surface. The lower part opens with a large drawer spanning the entire width, topped by two small drawers placed on either side of the façade. The drawers are enhanced with bronze handles featuring leaf motifs and intricately designed lock entries, characteristic of the rocaille style. The scalloped lower rail and curved legs, finished with bronze sabot feet, lend the entire piece the elegance of Louis XV furniture. The sides and back exhibit a simple construction, while the interior reveals interesting cabinetmaking work, particularly in the assembly of the small drawers. Beautiful old patina with warm tones, showcasing the natural hues of the wood and traces of its history. A secretary of fine proportions, both decorative and functional, ideal for a living room, library, or office. Period: 18th century. Style: Louis XV. Dimensions: Height: 98 cm. Width: 98 cm. Depth: 51 cm. Condition: used condition, with signs of age, surface wear, and old marks. To be waxed.
