I present you this fantastic, large serving dish in the shape of a fish that recalls certain motif and decoration that was found on some pottery of ancient greece. It is made of royal navy blue ceramic designed and made by environmental ceramics inc., san francisco, in 1966. It bears its trademark "environmental ceramics, inc. San francisco, all rights reserved © 1966" under the base (see photos.) this piece is in a truly exceptional original condition, and vintage. It comes directly from our personal collection. It was acquired by a member of our artist/sculptor family in the early '70s in los angeles, and we brought it directly from california. It was only used as a decorative piece (centerpiece) hence its condition. The beautiful royal navy blue color of the glaze, has a beautiful patina of time. There are 2, small old marks of age and use proportionate to time, at the bottom of the edge of the base (see photo with a 1 cent coin for perspective) and a small age mark, on its inner edge (see photo with a 1 cent coin for perspective), but no cracks or anything that affects the functionality of the room. The lid has no cracks or chips. It is 39 cm long with a depth of 17 cm and a height of 14 cm. Vintage californian ceramics from this period with attribution and / or signature, are not easy to find, especially in europe because they are extremely popular with californian collectors moreover in as beautiful condition as this one. An ideal piece to highlight for an eclectic, modern, contemporary or vintage décor, as a centerpiece, in a showcase or wall unit or simply for its initial use. In any case this piece will attract all eyes.
