Set of 2 vases and 1 tray signed nils thorsson

A set of a square tray and two rectangular vases with round necks, in glazed ceramic, signed NILS THORSSON (1898-1975) for the ROYAL COPENHAGEN factory. BACA series produced in the 1960s-1970s. The two vases feature stylized bird motifs and abstract forms. The tray features fish motifs and abstract forms. The set is in a beautiful gradient of beige, greige, brown, maroon, black, and white. Signed on the reverse with the Nils THORSSON stamp and the ROYAL COPENHAGEN stamp. The three pieces are numbered 719 for the common decoration, 3455 for the small vase, 3259 for the large vase, and 2885 for the tray. The form numbers are impressed into the clay of each piece. The BACA series comes in several shapes and sizes; this is the largest size for the tray and intermediate sizes for the vases. Nils Thorsson was a renowned Swedish ceramicist who joined the Danish factory in 1912 as an apprentice and became its artistic director in 1949. His pieces remain highly sought after (and their value continues to rise) because they are original and complement any interior style. Excellent condition: no cracks, no chips, no restoration.
