Elegant and authentic Art Deco vase in smoked glass signed D’Argyl, dating from the 1930s. The D’Argyl brand (1928-1940) was not a glassworks in the strict sense: it was a registered trademark established in 1928 by the Parisian company Val & Cie (Faubourg Saint Martin), which had its models produced by the Verrerie de la Belle Étoile (Art Lorrain), managed at the time by Paul Daum. Brown smoked glass, featuring typically modernist Art Deco geometric decoration, acid-etched, composed of large triangular panels and circular motifs. D’Argyl signature engraved in the decoration. * Beautifully thick moulded glass (weight: 1.250 kg) * Faceted base and neck. The overall condition is very good: only a small discreet chip on one corner of the base, with no impact on stability and practically invisible when the vase is displayed (see photos). Shipping at the buyer's expense in careful packaging. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to request additional photographs. A video call is possible.
