A pair of Danish bedside tables from the 1960s, often attributed to designer Henning Kjærnulf, featuring a unique blend of modern Scandinavian simplicity with baroque and medieval motifs, often described as "Danish brutalist." Made from quarter-sawn oak, their warm, natural tone and the tactile grain of the wood give them a unique organic quality. The design presents a refined sculptural presence, where fluid curves meet architectural precision. The finely sculpted cabriole legs evoke influences from the 18th century, creating a sophisticated contrast between softness and structure. Each piece has two dovetail drawers with original brass handles and one with decorative corner mounts. In good vintage condition, slightly restored and oiled, they retain their original patina. One of the tables is slightly smaller (H: 62 cm, W: 60 cm, D: 30 cm), forming an asymmetrical pair ideal for framing a king-size bed.
