Bilboquet

This cup and ball is amazing in its shape, it's the first time i've come across this model! I think it was made by an amateur craftsman, a wood turner who probably made it as a unique piece for a child in the family or as a gift for a friend who collects cups and balls. It is made of solid wood, perhaps a piece of wood salvaged from something else that was revised to become a cup and ball. It is in good general condition but does not hide some defects of origin or use: the drilling inside the "head" is not regular, some marks on the wood including traces of varnish. And it has another defect: it does not stand up on its stem because the end of it is slightly rounded. It measures 16 cm in height when the head is placed on the stem (stem 14 cm, head 5 cm in height), the head measures 5 cm in largest diameter.
