Smoking chair - Napoleon III. Antique smoking chair called "fumeuse" in carved oak with the attributes of the smoker. Needlepoint tapestry with flower decoration. H 87x45x46 cm +/- Smoking chair, also called fumeuse, low chair with a wide back on which one sat astride to smoke a cigar, cigarette or pipe, especially present in the photographic studios of the second half of the 19th century allowing one to hold the pose with a cigarette or pipe for the duration of the photo (long exposure at the time). Excellent condition, barely used with minimal signs of wear.
