Hand Blown Murano Glass Pendant Light – Amber Rim, 1970s Italy Design

Stunning vintage pendant lamp featuring a large and exceptionally beautiful hand-blown glass shade in classic Murano style. The thick clear textured glass is shaped into a dramatic flowing, wavy form and finished with a warm amber-colored glass rim. Tiny fragments of white glass are embedded throughout the shade, creating a wonderful frosted, almost crystalline texture. When illuminated, these small glass inclusions catch and diffuse the light, giving the lamp a particularly warm and atmospheric glow. The sculptural shape of the shade makes this pendant just as impressive switched off as it is illuminated. Its organic curves, amber details and substantial hand-crafted glass give it a wonderful 1970s Mid-Century Modern character with a touch of Italian glamour. We redesigned the lamp for contemporary use while preserving the beautiful vintage glass. All electrical components are new, including the textile-covered cable and the elegant gold-colored metal ceiling canopy. The turned wooden element above the glass adds warmth and complements the amber edge beautifully. The glass is hand blown, so small irregularities, bubbles, variations in texture and other traces of the traditional glass-making process may be present. These are part of its handmade character rather than defects.
